Meet John

John Trapp's leadership journey began in 2001, the same year (and maybe even the same day) that he married the love of his life, Mandy. Together they have raised 3 young adults, with over 20 years of marriage under the belts.

In the first phase of John's career as co-founder of Total-r Inc., he experienced family succession, a 50:50 partnership, growth through acquisition, and selling the business in 2015. John was also a long-standing member of EO Edmonton, with multiple board positions, culminating as president in 2012. During that time, he attended a 3-year entrepreneurial masters program at MIT in Boston, and had the pleasure of interviewing Sir. Richard Branson at a global conference, also headlined by the Dalai Lama.

After the sale of his business, John packed up his family and headed to Bali, Indonesia in order to more deeply explore their spiritual path and reconnection to one another. It was during this time that John traveled to Australia to become a certified coach with the Centre For Integral Wisdom (Founded by Mark Gafni and Ken Wilbur).

Upon their return to Edmonton, John and Mandy opened Canada's first mainstream meditation centre known as Lifestyle Meditation in their hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.  And, with a stable foundation in well-being, his desire to re-integrate essential principals back into the business culture was strongly pulling him forward, which led him to join Clark Builders in 2017.  John quickly rose to the role of V.P, People & Wellness, serving on the executive team.  It was here that John learned how the fundamental practices he was applying to his own life as well as with individual clients, could help him to serve on a much bigger scale. His personal human-centric leadership style was the key that unlocked a successful leadership team that led thousands of employees and field workers each and every day during the chaotic, and rapidly changing climate of the pandemic.

In a post-pandemic world, John sees the irreversible changes to workplace culture and firmly believes that in order to be sustainably successful, companies will soon have no choice but to quickly learn how to become more focused on the attraction and retention of their employees by becoming more conscious, caring, and informed leaders.
